This is an un-moderated list, so anything sent to it from a subscribed address will be immediately forwarded to all list members. This is where you can pass along news items, discuss current events, think out loud, announce events, and so on.

Email List Etiquette
In order to create the best environment for a healthy exchange of ideas and information, we invite you to observe the following guidelines:
Avoid flaming. This is not a simple term to define. It basically means to publicly and loudly disagree with someone—but with an extra "Zing" factor that crosses over into "personal attack" territory. No forwarding of private or other "non-public" messages to the list without the prior consent of the person being quoted.
No messages promoting commercial enterprises. We may want to allow for certain exceptions—like mentioning a food co-op or a place to buy fair trade goods, for example.
Provide sources for forwarded articles so people make investigate and evaluate them further, and if possible, sending a link to the original location instead of copying the entire article—for the sake of reducing bandwidth. Some introductory comments might also be very helpful for people who want to know the article's relevance to them.
Treat people’s personal information with care and consideration by removing cc’d e-mail addresses or other contact information when forwarding announcements, or quoting other posts. This is a good idea for off-list communication as well. Be aware of when an "on topic" message has been sent privately so you can respond appropriately and without inadvertently making a private communication public.
